Description: A low protein Italian pasta shaped like tiny (2 mm in diameter) circles. This small pasta is perfect for use in broths or to use with light sauces such as garlic and olive oil. Try in cold salads where a small pasta is suggested. Also great for a early stage baby food. The Aproten line of pastas are also wheat/lactose-free and low in salt and potassium making them suitable for individuals with renal diseases as well.
Preparation: Boil 4 cups of water per 62 g of pasta. Stir pasta into the boiling water and then simmer for 8-12 minutes or until tender. Drain and rinse under running water for approximately 2 minutes to remove excess starch. The cooking time listed may vary depending on boiling methods and tastes.
Serving Suggestions: Prepare Cambrooke Foods Alfredo Sauce Mix, Chicken Consomme or Shake 'N' Cheese (as shown in the images above) and pour over the prepared pasta. Also try topping with your favorite marinara or spaghetti sauce.
